US OFAC expands list of sanctioned entities

The US Office of Foreign Assets Control has continued to expand its list of Specially Designated Nationals (SDNs). The list is subject to amendments, deletions and additions on a regular basis. However the most recent additions relate to a number of shipping companies including several based in Athens and eight oil tankers flagged in Panama and Liberia. The list of SDNs also now includes Central Insurance of Iran and Kish Protection and Indemnity, both based in Tehran.

Members are recommended to continue to exercise caution in their dealings with Iran/Iranian entities and to ensure that appropriate enquiries are made in relation to the identity of contractual partners and their insurance arrangements.
