Seafarer wellbeing has been a focal point for Standard Club in recent years, demonstrated by our decision to be a signatory to the Global Maritime Forum’s 2021 Neptune Declaration.

The Loss Prevention team has produced a range of resources on seafarer wellbeing, from publications to our poster campaign, for seafarers in a bid to raise awareness on the topic. Seafarers face a number of possible mental health challenges being at sea for long periods and these have been exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Club has issued guidance on mental health for seafarer’s during the pandemic available below.

The club is heartened to see more initiatives on the topic and is proud to announce our support for IMarEST 1st Global Conference for Seafarer Mental Health and Wellbeing as a Bronze Sponsor.
