POEA Employment contract revised

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has issued a circular (No 4 Series of 2013) revising the standard POEA contract of employment, which now includes the crewman’s date and place of birth, the shipowner’s address and a reference to any collective bargaining agreement in place.  This is to ensure the contract complies with the 2006 Maritime Labour Convention which will enter into force on 20 August 2013.
