Seafarer wellbeing has been a focal topic for Standard Club's Loss Prevention team in recent years, particularly during the COVID-19 global pandemic. In 2020, the club designed an award winning poster campaign intended to grace the walls of members’ ships. Our Loss Prevention team will continue to raise awareness of the topic and focus on what more we can do to support our seafarers and foster a safer shipping industry.

In the same vein, we are also heartened by industry bodies such as ISWAN who dedicate themselves to improving seafarers’ lives. In this month’s article from their Social Interaction Matters series, which aims to help shipping and ship management companies improve seafarers’ social interaction on board, and to positively impact the wellbeing of their seafarers, ISWAN explores the activities which work well on board. This can be found in the attachment box along with the club's seafarer wellbeing articles and resources.
