The Philippines Coast Guard has alerted ReCAAP ISC that a group of approximately five armed ASG (Abu Sayyaf Group) members are planning to conduct kidnapping activities around Sabah.

The Philippines Coast Guard has alerted ReCAAP ISC that a group of approximately five armed ASG (Abu Sayyaf Group) members are planning to conduct kidnapping activities around Sabah. The group came from Sulu and was monitored to have landed at Omapoy Island, Tawi Tawi. The group might target fishing boats or other slow moving ships in the vicinity. 

Ship masters and crew are strongly urged to exercise extra vigilance when transiting the waters off Eastern Sabah and in the Sulu-Celebes Seas.
