Initiatives & Projects
We have an active and diverse rolling programme of loss prevention initiatives and projects to target the common root causes of claims.
Our initiatives and projects range from information and research campaigns to interactive videos and digital resources. Most involve external partners, who lend their resources and expertise and also share our commitment to achieving higher standards of safety in the maritime industry.
The club's Safety & Loss Advisory Committees help to drive our initiatives and projects. By analysing individual claims and overall trends, they help to develop strategies and direction for our initiatives and projects.

How we share knowledge
Much of the knowledge output of our initiatives and projects is in the form of loss prevention publications. These vary from detailed bulletins and guides on specific technical and managerial topics to shorter, more frequent industry handouts.
All publications focus on industry best practices and issues that can or may cause losses and offer suggestions on how best to prevent them. The aim is to provide advice and guidance for members and their crews, as well as to ensure both they and the club have a shared understanding of industry best practice.
