The Convention will come into force 12 months after Denmark’s ratification

The Convention will come into force on 14 April 2015, 12 months after Denmark’s ratification.
 
The following states have ratified the Convention:

  • Bulgaria
  • Denmark
  • Germany
  • India
  • Iran
  • Malaysia
  • Morocco
  • Nigeria
  • Palau
  • United Kingdom

From 14 April 2015, it will be necessary for ships of 300 GT and over flagged at registries in the above states, or calling at ports and terminals in the above states to have certificates evidencing sufficient insurance cover for wreck removal in accordance with the Convention.
 
The Standard Club will be in a position to issue such certificates at the time the Convention is in force in 2015.  For further information, we recommend members refer to the Standard Bulletin from December 2013.
