A large fire and explosion onboard a container ship led to the closure of three berths at Thailand’s Laem Chabang port on Saturday 25 May. The berth where the fire occurred has sustained significant damage as has the ship and authorities continue to investigate the cause of the blaze. The casualty and investigation is expected to cause delays to operations at the port and members are advised to seek specific advice from their agents on the current situation.
