News: USCG marine safety information bulletin - Mississippi
News & Insights 25 February 2020
The USCG has issued a Marine Safety Information bulletin advising on the operating requirements in the Mississippi when Carrollton Gauge is at 15 feet and rising.
We recently published a news item concerning lost anchor incidents in the Mississippi River which can be found in the link on the right. We have been notified since then that the USCG has issued a Marine Safety Information bulletin advising on the operating requirements in the Mississippi when Carrollton Gauge is at 15 feet and rising.
We recommend that members exercise caution when transiting through the Mississippi and ensure that the main engines, steering, mooring and anchoring equipment is tested prior entry and is in a satisfactory condition.
The bulletin is available for download on the right.
