FD&D

FD&D provides cover for members’ expenses incurred in defending or pursuing legal proceedings in relation to the operation of their owned/operated or chartered ships. This is also known as freight, demurrage and defence (FD&D) cover.

Such costs will typically arise out of disputes under:

• charterparties
• bills of lading
• cargo operations
• other operational agreements
• new building and conversion disputes by special agreement

The standard limit of cover offered is $5m, but higher limits are available.
