Web Alert: Chinese quarantine measures against Zika virus for vessels coming from Singapore

News & Insights 12 September 2016

Members are advised that from 1 September 2016, Singapore has been added into the list of Zika virus affected country list by China quarantine authorities (CIQ)

Further to our previous web alert on Chinese quarantine measures against Zika virus, members are advised that from 1 September 2016, Singapore has been added into the list of Zika virus affected country list by China quarantine authorities (CIQ). As such, ships sailing from Singapore to China are also required to obtain mosquito eradication certificate (MEC)

As advised by the club’s correspondent (Huatai) it would not be considered as an actual port of call if the vessel calls Singapore only for bunkering, without embarkation/disembarkation of persons or cargo loading/discharging operations.
