Press article: Bhandarkar Shipping News article on our Mumbai Seminar, 7 May 2015
28 May 2015
On 7 May 2015 Standard Asia hosted a seminar in Mumbai for the Indian Shipping market.
Bhandarkar Shipping News attended the seminar and wrote an article, available here.
It was well attended, with guests 'including representatives from the Indian National Shipowners’ Association, 17 ship owning and ship operating companies, leading Indian maritime law firms; survey companies, P&I correspondents and marine adjusting companies. The seminar covered four topics – an update on The Standard Club; issues surrounding the introduction of the Ballast Water Convention; the club’s perspective on the new MARPOL Annex VI sulphur emission requirements; and an overview of the newly in force Wreck Removal Convention.
There was strong interest from the audience in the presentations which were delivered by representatives from Standard Asia’s Singapore based team. Standard Club is one of the strongest members of the International Group of P&I Clubs.'
Following the success of this event we plan to return in 2016.
