This is the latest marine International Convention to come out of the IMO, having been adopted at a diplomatic conference in Nairobi on 18 May 2007. Its passage has taken some 14 years since the issue was first raised at an IMO legal committee meeting in 1993. The Convention, which will be known as the Nairobi International Convention on the Removal of Wrecks, 2007 (WRC) requires 10 ratifications in order to come into force
